Mary L Marone

Mary L. Marone, age 94, of Leisure Village West, Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday March 3rd. Mary was born On February 14, 1924 in Orange, NJ and lived most of her life in Essex County before moving to Leisure Village West in 2011. She was highly active with the Deborah Hospital Foundation, Crestmont Division, West Orange, and received an award for her 25 years of dedicated service. She was the genealogy guru of the family, aided by her outstanding ability to remember names and dates. She was a devout Catholic, an avid reader, as well as an excellent cook and baker.

Mary was predeceased by two husbands, John Sardo and Mario Marone, and six of her siblings. She is survived by her brother Anthony DelSpina; her two daughters, Rosemarie Sardo and Kathryn Minelli, her stepdaughter Susan Winters and her husband Charles; her grandchildren: Laura McAlinden, Kelly McAlinden and her fiancé Robert Miller, John Minelli and his wife Michelle, Joseph McAlinden and his wife Jingxia, Melissa Minelli, Christopher Winters, Carrie Ford and her wife Christina, and Michael Winters; and her great-grandchildren: Jared, Chase, Morgan, Theodore, Connor, Catherine, Logan, and Lucille.

Visiting will be Thursday March 8th from 4-8pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A graveside service will be held 11:30am Friday March 9th at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
