Maria Caputo

Maria Caputo, 83, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2019. She was born in Ragusa, Sicily. She lived in Brooklyn and Flushing, NY, before moving to Toms River in 1985. Maria was a Dress Operator for Ajax Frocks in NYC, NY, until becoming a full time mother. She is a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Toms River.

Maria is survived by her beloved husband Daniel Caputo of 64 years; her daughter Lisa Caputo of Toms River; her brother John Bucchieri of North Carolina; two sisters: Elvira LaTerra of North Carolina, and Salvatrice Bucchieri of Ragusa, Silcily. She is also survived by ten loving grandchildren: Darielle, Doriann, Desiree, Shane, Kimberly, Natalie, Kayla, Frankie, Alea, and Michael; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 30th, at St. Joseph RC Church on Hooper Avenue in Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toms River First Aid Squad, 11 Irons Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, to help purchase a defibrillator.
