Lucy Burns 99, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2013. Lucy was born in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY and spent most of her life in Brooklyn.
She worked for the HIP on Nostrand Ave. for 30 years before moving to Toms River to be with her family. She then worked at Silver Threads for a few years before retiring and enjoyed spending time with her friends, going on outings, playing cards and loved her trips to Atlantic City. She was also a member of Deborah Heart and Lung Association.
Lucy was predeceased in 1964 by her husband Charles who was a NYC police officer. Surviving are her daughters Katherine, Rose and Mary and a son Charles.
She will be sadly missed by her 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Maximillian Kobe RC Church in Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
