Joyce M. Anderson

Joyce M. Anderson, 84, of Toms River, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, she moved to Asbury Park before residing in Toms River after marriage.

Joyce spent 25 years happily driving a school bus for the Toms River Regional School District. She got immense joy from getting the children on her routes to school each day. She was a dedicated employee who helped create a loving and close community among her peers at the bus garage. She was an active registrar and assistant for the Toms River Hawks soccer club in the 70’s and 80’s when her 3 children played for the club. She was an avid volunteer for many organizations over the years.

Joyce lived for her husband Jim, her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. She was the go-to person for everyone, for anything. She was silly, fun, detail oriented, a problem solver, and the glue for her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 64 years, James T. Anderson; her three children, daughter Diana Anderson, her husband John and two grandchildren James and Ava Joyce; son James C. Anderson, his wife Bonnie and two grandchildren Corinne and Halie; daughter Carolyn Anderson, her husband Mark and granddaughter Hannah; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Julia and Charles Mahan and her beloved Aunt, Katherine Daskey.

Joyce’s family and friends will miss her smile, her infectious laugh, and her need to provide help, support, and comfort to everyone around her in every circumstance possible.

Visiting will be held on Friday, July 23rd from 3 PM to 7 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. The funeral Service and Entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River will be private.
