Helen Yannich, 83 of Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023. Helen was born in Brooklyn NY to Vito and Alice Verelli and moved to Long Island where she met her 1st husband Matthew Hand. Together they had 5 children raising them close to family before moving to Jackson NJ.
Helen became a single Mom and started a career in the supermarket business where she eventually met her future husband Joseph Yannich blending their families of 8 children in a home in Toms River, NJ. Her love of her children was her driving force and she raised them with laughter reinforcing the importance of family and friends.
Helen loved music and dancing and never missed a chance to cut a rug with her sister Judi. She was an avid football fan spending her weekends watching whatever teams were playing. She and her husband Joe enjoyed traveling making many memories with lifelong friends and enjoyed the excitement of Atlantic City and Vegas. She eventually retired to Boca Raton, Florida where she enjoyed a quiet life often being visited by family and friends, happy to have their company.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Vito and Alice Verelli, her sister Judith Policaro and brother-in-law Fred Policaro, her husband Joseph Yannich and her daughter Victoria Wagner. She is survived by her children Matthew Hand (Alexis), Laura Espada (Henry), son-in-law John Wagner, Luke Hand (Dolores), Christopher Hand (Amy), Jo Ann Levers (John), Frank Yannich (Christine), Rosemary Hyer (Mark), her brother Victor Verelli and sister-in-law Carol, Grandchildren Nicole Martucci, Mark Hyer, Steven Hyer, Kayleigh Popek, John Levers, Kaitlyn Levers, Joseph Hyer, Darcie Beltran, Christopher Hand, Lauren Hand, Timothy Wagner, Alexander Espada and Hannah Hand, 14 Great Grandchildren, nephew’s Erik Policaro and Jerry Cruz, niece Alicia O’Brien, and many lifelong friends.
Her viewing is being held on Tuesday, June 13th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, June 14th at 10:00am at the funeral home followed by a service at Brigadier General William C Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown NJ.
