I worked with Gerry on the boardwalk collecting for disabled veterans. Gerry volunteered to help with projects helping others. On his last day he left me a message that i should pick up his wheelchair, some othet veteran could use it. He would not need it anymore. That's the kind of person hes was. I will miss him.

There are not words to describe the character of Uncle Gerry. I have a lot of great memories of him and Anna having great BBQs, trips to Winding River Park, and just a lot of other cherished childhood memories with him. His kindness, great attitude and selflessness will be missed. Job well done here Uncle Gerry, love you.

Anna, Gerry, Michelle, Anna Marie;  Jane and I want you all to know how deeply we mourn the loss of Gerry,  although we have  lived a great distance from you, the deep feelings that we have had for you all has always been strong and lasting, and will continue.   We are family, and have cherished our deep feelings for you all.  We have kept updated about Gerry’s condition for the last several years by Walt and Char, so we knew about the peeks and vallys that he was living through.  We are convinced that Gerry is in a much better place, free of pain and suffering, and in the arms of God.  We pray for you all, that you may find strength and comfort knowing Gerry will always be with you,  God Bless you all.  We offer to you all our love and prayers. The most wonderful, genuine, kind, strong, and gentle man  anyone could meet. It did always feel like home in their house just like Cheryl’s beautiful words said. I was married into the family and even after divorce and 20 years and then some I have always felt loved in his presence, as though he was excited to see me. Aunt Anna too. I was so glad to have been able to bring Ella my granddaughter meet him and Aunt Anna. Two true loves. Until we meet again. 

 How do you say goodbye to a man who was a father to you? Uncle Gerry and I shared a bond like no other. We both adored my Gram Yvette and were devastated to lose her. We would share our memories of her often. We lived hundreds of miles apart, but managed to always stay in touch. He and auntie would drive to Massachusetts for every important event in my life. When I got married, the only man I’d ever dance the father daughter dance with had to be him. We both cried wishing Gram could’ve been there. He reminded me that she was there, in our hearts and memories. When he met my baby girl, Arianna, it was as if he had another grandchild. He and Auntie came to all her birthday and graduation parties. He was always lending a hand and sharing a beaming smile. Uncle was probably the most approachable man on earth. Everyone could sense his gentle kindness. He was one of the strongest men I know. He survived tragedy and hardship. He would work his way through anything, including finances personal problems and health issues. He persevered with the courage of a lion.  I loved visiting New Jersey to spend time with him, my aunt and my cousins. It always felt like home when I was at their house. This last year, I tried to be with all of them as often as possible. When I thought I might be becoming a nuisance visiting so often, my uncle called to say he missed me and wanted me to come down again. That’s the kind of man he was. When you thought you knew him as well as you could, he’d surprise you and tug on your heartstrings just a bit more. We used to tease each other about who would cry more while picking out cards at Hallmark! He was never afraid to show emotion. I think that’s one of the things people loved the most about him. I know I did. Now, as we say our goodbyes, I wonder how my heart will ever heal. When will my eyes ever dry? How can I go on? All I can do is remember how loved I felt by my sweet uncle and hope that we will someday be together again. I love you Uncle.

He was a great man a great family man and just a person you strive to be like . Mr. Robichaud was like a second father to me , he taught me so much about life and how to be a man . He took me places and always had room for “the kid across the street” on fishing trips family bbqs and basically anything else . I used to love when little Gerry would think he was tough and big Gerry would do a couple of moves and it was over . I will always have a place in my heart for Mr. Robichaud and his family and I will miss him dearly.
