Emma Myra Mitchell, 87, a life-long resident of Toms River, NJ, passed away at home on July 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised on Bey-Lea Dairy Farm in Toms River. She loved cooking and gardening and spent her free time volunteering at church. Emma was a minister for the Seaside Outreach Program at The Church of Grace & Peace in Toms River, and a former Director of Christian Education at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River. Her greatest joy was helping others and her love of God.
Emma was predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Emma Gatsch McGuire, her brother John McGuire, and her beloved husband John A. Mitchell. She is survived by her three children: Cindy D. Crickenberger and her husband Sam of Middlebrook, VA, Merrilyn G. Livingston and her husband Earle of Toms River, and John B. Mitchell and his wife Mary of Lanoka Harbor. Emma is also survived by her four grandchildren: Grace and Asa Crickenberger, and Taylor and Molly Livingston; and her three great-grandchildren: Wilson Crickenberger, and Cody and Nate Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25th, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River 1070 Hooper Ave, Toms River. Burial will be immediately following at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River.
