Cecilia Lillian Day was born on January 15, 1940 to Samuel and Mae Meltzer. She was one of nine children. Ceil, as she was fondly known as, was a resident of Toms River for 48 years and parishioner of St. Justin’s Church. For many years, Ceil was the manager of Eve’s Garden of Gifts.
Ceil is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Gregory Day and daughter Robin Aponte. As well as her son in law, Ralph Aponte, her four grandchildren, Travis, Dominick, Dominique and Mateo. Also, three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Tristan and Julien. Ceil was also a beloved and favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:30 am at St. Justin the Martyr Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Ceil.
