Anthony W. Raymond, Jr., 85, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on March 8, 2017, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was born in Newark, NJ and was a longtime resident of Toms River. Anthony served with the U.S. Marine Corp from 1950-1954. He was a police officer for 30½ years for Toms River Police Department, retiring in 1986 as Sergeant. He then worked as a school bus driver for Monsignor Donovan H.S. where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Tony”. Anthony coached Pop Warner Football from its inception till 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. Anthony dearly loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Anthony was predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie Raymond in 2015. He is survived by his two loving daughters: Ann Kimberley Brownfield and her husband Mark of Torrance, CA, and Mary Lee Ellis and her husband Bill of East Greenwich, RI; his four granddaughters: Katelyn, Bethany, Sydney, and Rebekah; his sister Joyce Ann Moran; and his niece Sharin Moran.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, from 2-4 and 7-9PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private.
