Jimmie D. McGee passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2024.
He was born to Patsy McGee and Lee McGee on September 12,1942 in Granite, Oklahoma. He graduated from Carter High School in 1960. He attended Sayre Junior College briefly. He was raised on a farm where he learned to grow different crops, raise cows and was also part of Future Farmers of America. He had many odd jobs in Oklahoma before heading to California in 1964. He and one of his friends flipped a quarter to see if they would go north and farm or south and find a job. They went south and he found a job at Miller Desk, a commercial office systems company. He worked his way up in this company and into Big "B" and then finally opened up his own company. In 1972, he started CDI. He was well known and respected in this industry for over 40 years. Everyone knew that all you needed was his word and his handshake. He possessed high integrity and morals at work and beyond. After he retired, he stayed busy and always had to have some form of project to do. Being stationary was not him. He had a love of animals, dogs and especially horses. He had many race horses that he enjoyed watching race and loved to share it with family and friends. He also had a love for fishing and spent a lot of time fishing on his boat "Cowboy". He loved to travel and explore different areas. In 1995, he opened up "Fidos" a restaurant and bar in San Pedro, Belize. He loved the country and the locals.
Jimmie was an inspiration, role model and rock to all of his family, friends and all that met him. One of the things that brought him the most joy was to see his family and friends enjoying themselves and having a great time. He went above and beyond to make sure it happened. He had a laugh that just brought a smile to your face and warmed your heart especially when he cracked himself up. He had an extremely large heart and would lend a hand and help anyone.
He was preceded to Heaven by his mother Patsy, his father Lee McGee, his son Randy McGee and brother Terry McGee.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rhonda McGee, his little Westie dog "Fuddy McGee", his daughter Cecily Gibson (Shelby), granddaughter Summer Zuniga (Herminio), great grandson Randal Zuniga, great granddaughter Rose Zuniga, grandson Shelby Gibson II (Tracy), great grandson Shelby Gibson III, Shane Gibson and great granddaughter Stevie Gibson, brothers Tony McGee, Glen McGee (Joan), and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life will follow in California and Oklahoma.
