Lee Gough

Carroll Lee “Lee” Gough, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 95. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 24, 1929 to Adelaide and Carroll Gough. Lee graduated from Towson High School and earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. His 42-year career at Black & Decker was marked by excellence and innovation, and he earned recognition not only as an engineer but also as an expert technical witness. Lee’s contributions to the company were invaluable, and he was respected by his colleagues for his intellect and integrity.

In 1953, Lee married his beloved wife, Jeanne, and they were married for 71 years. Lee was a proud father and together they raised 5 children: Bill, Richard (Cheri), Nancy, Sue (Rich), and Bob (Laura). He was a doting grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and a loving great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren. His family was the center of his life, and he took great joy in watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and thrive.

Lee’s interests extended far beyond his professional life. He was an avid photographer, capturing the beauty of the world and creating lasting memories for his family. He had a life-long love for Hawaii and its music. Lee was also a great fan of Broadway show tunes and bagpipes. His adventurous spirit led him to travel to 59 countries, enriching his life with experiences from around the world. His legacy will be his love for family; dedication to his profession; and passion for travel, trains, and the theater.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 North Charles St., Baltimore, Maryland 21210 at 11:30 AM . Funeral services begin at 12:00 PM, followed by interment at Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21208.

Light lunch will be served following interment at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace United Methodist Church at the address in the previous paragraph, in memory of Lee Gough.

Lee’s legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him will remember his quiet strength, his wit, and his deep affection for the people he loved. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come.

A visitation for Lee will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21210,with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM .
