John Edward Turner passed away on November 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn S. Turner, to whom John was married in 1957, and leaves behind children and grandchildren grateful and blessed beyond measure for his presence in our lives. Beloved father of Preston Turner and Blair Anton, and Brooke T. Shapiro and her husband David; brother of Alberta Ruley; cherished grandfather of Drew, Emily, and Wilson Turner, Steven, Joseph, and Jacob Shapiro.
Born in Baltimore on August 29, 1937, John attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and the University of Maryland at College Park. He later was Sales Director at Red Star Yeast, Universal Foods, and Lassaffre. Throughout his life, John was a constant fixture on the sidelines and audiences of his children’s and grandchildren’s events.
The family will receive friends at Lemmon Funeral Home, 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 20193 on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A memorial service will begin at 12:30pm.
