On May 12, 2023, Frank William Zanti, Sr., “Anky”, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children. He was 86 years old. An avid golfer, Frank began running marathons in his late 40s and continued to run races for the next 30 years. He inspired his children and grandchildren to run and to find pleasure in fitness outdoors. He collected sayings from many sources, such as, "Exercise is the antidote for worry" and "Good health is the richest of all treasures." He did not take any medication and enjoyed good health until a fall from his bike caused his health to decline.
Frank is survived by children Frank Zanti, Jr. (the late Susan), Victor Zanti (Kathleen), Kathleen Zanti-Quinn (Edward), Karen Burkett (the late Richard), Guy Zanti (Kathleen), and Kimberley Zanti; Patricia Abrials, the mother of his children, and his loving brother Michael and Sister-in-law Debra Zanti. Frank was the cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren, Adriane Zanti-Kruppenbacker (Brian), E. Adam Quinn (Bailey), Allison Zanti-Schonberger (Jeremy), Zachary Quinn (Amanda), Joseph Burkett (Mackenzie), Sharon Zanti (Jordan), Hannah Zanti (Trevor), Tyler Quinn, Brian Zanti (Megan), Justin Burkett, Emilee Zanti-Brown (Blake), Claire Zanti, Victoria Zanti, Michael Zanti, Patrick Zanti, and Christopher Zanti. He was the great grandfather of Brynn, Blake, Wesley, Sophie, Bentley, Isla, Zion, and Leo. He is also survived by several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road, on June 25, 2023 from 3 pm - 4 pm, where a Celebration of Life will begin at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of Frank W. Zanti, Sr. to the railstotrails.org, a way to help the conservancy of trails throughout the country.
