The family moved to Ray, Arizona where Bob graduated from Ray High School in 1950. As a young kid, he worked as a grocery clerk and a projectionist at the movie theater. For much of his adult life, he worked in various sales positions, including a prominent one as an automobile salesman at Beaverton Datsun.
On June 30, 1965, Bob married Jacqueline "Jackie" Riley. The two met in Hawaii at a ‘Parents Without Partners’ dance. The two were married for over 52 years until Jackie's passing in 2017.
Bob had many hobbies and interests. He was a member of the Portland Dixieland Jazz Society and enjoyed listening to music and dancing. In addition, he was a runner and completed several marathons, including the 1983 Portland Marathon.
Bob is survived by his children, Jan Boone (Dave), Cindy White, and Robert Riley Jr.; stepchildren, Bonnie Kittleson (Russell Hoeflich), Deborah McVeigh (Daniel), and Randall Crom (Holly); 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Carroll Riley (Tina).
A Celebration Luau will be held at Young's Funeral Home on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 1pm, followed by a reception. Please wear a Hawaiian shirt in honor of Bob!
