Patricia May Freeman

Patricia May was born June 20, 1929 in Helena, Montana the daughter of Earl B. and Ruth O'Neill Ramsey. She was raised in Helena and graduated from Helena Cathedral High School. She married James Lemon in 1947. They later divorced. Their family grew to include two sons and two daughters. Patricia worked for a total of 25 years for the State of Montana. This included positions with the Board of Equalization, secretary for the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department and Eastern Montana College. She married Robert R. Freeman in 1978 and moved to Billings, Montana and later to Canby, Oregon. Robert passed away in 1992. Pat later moved to Bay City, Oregon.

Pat loved keeping in contact with friends and family by sending cards and letters she typed on an old IBM typewriter. She remembered everyone's birthday and she may have made up a holiday or event, just to have a reason to write! Patricia also loved flowers; but mostly if they were already planted, as she did not like to get her hands dirty! Her favorites flowers were sweet peas, pansies and pink roses. Anyone that knew her probably recalls her fondness for chocolate. Her dog “Topsy” was her special friend. She spent some of the happiest years of her life in Bay City with Mert Miller.

Survivors include her companion, Mert Miller; sons, Eric Lemon and wife, Johnnie and Scott Lemon and wife, Beverly; daughters, Diane Haun and husband, James and Marcia Lemon and husband, Brent; brothers, David Ramsey and wife, Mary Lynn, deceased brother Earl’s wife, Betty Ramsey; sisters, Ruth Lemon, Lorena Taylor and husband, Jerry Sr. and Rosemary Ross; grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick, Bryan, Seth and Kevin Lemon; and also Mert’s children who she loved, Chris Miller and Michelle and husband, Tom Petit, their children Jason, Heather, husband Mark, their children, and family friend, Bruce Blake.

At her request, there will be no formal service held. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Legacy Emanuel Burn Center.
