Burke, Marie C. (DeLille) 81 9/04/1928 -- 5/02/2010 Marie was born in Los Angeles. She was a PBX operator for Tektronix.

Marie is survived by her husband Richard D.; daughters, Kathleen Marie, Maureen Smith and Mary Browne; and sons, Randall, Robert, John, Daniel and James.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard M.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a vigil service from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Young's Funeral Home, Tigard. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Tigard.

Marie Constance Burke Sept. 4, 1928 – May 2, 2010

Longtime Tigard resident Marie Constance Burke died at her home on May 2. She was 81 years old.

She was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Los Angeles to Henry De Lille and Elise Day. She attended local schools and worked primarily as a switchboard operator.

In 1947, she married Richard D. Burke, and the family first made their home in Lakewood, Calif., where Mrs. Burke made many friends while helping to establish St. Pancratius Parish.

In 1966, the family moved to Tigard, where Mrs. Burke was active at St. Anthony's Parish.She had been employed as a PBX operator for Tektronix, retiring in 1985.

Her devout Catholic faith and her selfless devotion to family defined her life. She enjoyed reading, all kinds of music, playing Solitaire, watching game shows, and traveling with her husband Richard, who survives her. Also surviving are daughters Kathleen Marie, Maureen Smith and Mary Browne; sons Randall, Robert, John, Daniel and James; 17 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters Marjorie Massaglia and Arlene Dispenza; brothers Stanley Oviatt and Jud Ballard Oviatt and son, Richard Michael Burke.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in St. Anthony Church, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
