Maher Mohamed Abs

Maher Mohamed Abs, aged 59, of Gresham, Oregon, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. A beloved husband, father, and friend, Maher was known for his warm-hearted nature, humor, and dedication to his family and community.

Born with a passion for life, Maher found joy in the simple pleasures, such as buying and reselling cars, a hobby that brought him immense satisfaction. His culinary skills were renowned among family and friends, as he delighted in cooking and sharing meals, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. Maher also enjoyed watching "Impractical Jokers," a show that never failed to bring laughter into his home.

Maher is survived by his devoted wife, Rowyda Ishak, and their three children: Benjamin Hayes, Amir Abs, and Amar Abs. His family was the center of his world, and he was a loving and supportive presence in their lives. Maher's legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A prayer service will be held at the Islamic Center of Portland at 1 p.m., followed by a burial at the Muslim Center of Portland. Family, friends, and community members are invited to join in honoring Maher's life and legacy.
