Betty attended Franklin High School. In 1956 she married Robert Egge in Portland OR. They lived in Newberg, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Tigard, and Lake Oswego. Robert operated a plumbing business and Betty taught oil painting at the "Paint-In Studio and Gallery" she co-owned in Clackamas for many years. She also taught oil and watercolor painting at the West Linn Community Center. Her appreciation of the beauty of nature was passed on to her children, and is captured in her art forever. Her paintings were exhibited in several galleries and are cherished in the homes of her family. Her joy at seeing a beautiful sunset or an ocean wave inspired others to appreciate every moment in nature. She loved animals and enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds in her back yard. Since her first child was born, she has devoted her life to her family, who will forever remember her as a loving, gracious woman. She loved animals and vacations at the Oregon coast, but in truth she was all about her family and enjoyed laughing together and spending as much time as she could with them.
Betty was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 54 years and two sons, Rick Hartung and Kurt Egge.
She is survived by her children, Scott Egge and partner Emily Blue of Scott's Mills Or, Laura Durbrow and husband Doug of Tigard, Roberta Egge of Gladstone, Jean Finch and husband Doug of Milwaukie Or, stepson Mike Egge of Happy Valley, Or., daughters-in-law, Charissa Rose and Jan Hartung, grandchildren Nick, Ian, Paul, Nathan, Jennifer, Kate, Adam, Rachel, Joe, Wendy, Connor, Wyatt, Kaleigh and Ian and by numerous great grandchildren.
Mrs., Egge will be privately laid to rest beside her husband at Willamette National Cemetery.
