Angela was born on July 13, 1927 in Horley, Surrey England and came to the US in 1947 as part of the postwar Brides Act. Her experiences were featured in an article by the Oregonian titled: Love, war, and an act of Congress.
She married Stanley Howe, a US Army Soldier she met in London during WWII, and lived in New York until they divorced in 1956. During this marriage she had 2 children whom she leaves behind, Cindy Houle of Fountain Hills, Az, and Michael Howe of Bloomingburg, NY. She is also survived by her grandson, Elijah Howe of Bloomingburg, NY.
She moved to Oregon and married Robert Heuer, a brick Mason, in 1959 until their divorce in 1975. Both of her prior husbands are deceased.
Angela proudly bought her first home in 1987, in the Tigard Summerfield Condos. Where she lived until Aug. 31, 2015, when she moved into the Brookdale Beaverton Memory Care Facility. While at Summerfield she served several terms as the Treasurer of the Homeowners Association.
During her time in Oregon she worked for Cigna and the Hartford, earning her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, and was President of the Portland chapter of the Life Agency Cashiers Assoc. in the early 1960s.
She was very active in various charitable organizations, including the Pittock Mansion, and the local hospitals.
Her lifetime love was being involved in the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE), where she developed lifelong friends. Angela served as the State President three times; 1978-1980, 1984-1986, and 1990-1992. She also was active with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
