I am thinking today about the family that Shirley loved so deeply. I hope you are all doing well. Shirley is smiling down on all of us.

I remember Shirley today and every day with love.  I know she's watched over me and given me comfort through my own health challenge.  Sending best wishes to her family, who meant the world to her.


I met Shirley on my first day at Lockheed Martin in January, 2004. She became one of my dearest friends. Shirley was the most authentic and genuine person, and she had the greatest capacity to love others and accept them as they were. It was clear at her memorial service and through the comments shared here how many lives she touched and enriched. I am so grateful to have known her, to have been advised by and supported by her,  to have laughed and cried and shared life's ups and downs with her; she will always be in my heart. The courage and grace Shirley showed all of us these past few years are an inspiration. Thank you to her family for all the amazing photos you've shared, which capture the pure love that was Shirley. I miss her every day and remember her with smiles and love.

Oh, Ron, I am so sorry to hear about this. Shirley was one of my favorite people, and I will remember her courage, her dignity, her ability to work through even the hardest of emotional discomforts. I remember meeting Shirley in the hospital, a visit I was blessed with doing as the psychologist who was to be following her was off that day, and it was love at first visit. I could never give her up again! She wasn't supposed to be 'mine' but it was meant to be I think. Please know that if you want to check in I'm here, and that the world is a darker place without her. I met Shirley through our mutual friend Judy Arnold.  Shirley and I clicked the first time we talked.  My fondest memories were when we both arrived early to work at Lockheed Martin and she would drop by my cube to chat.  It always made my day brighter to visit with her.  She had such a sweet personality and such a giving heart.  I look forward to "strolling across Heaven" with my dear friend some day. 

My favorite memories of Shirley are of what a good friend she was to work with at Lockheed Martin.  Shirley and I shared many a story, a hug, a shoulder to cry on, work complaints and work joys.  I miss my friend.

Shirley and I worked together at Lockheed Martin for many years before she retired. What I will miss most about Shirley is her great smile and her warm and welcoming presence. Shirley never met a stranger and was such a great friend to everyone. It was very obvious that Shirley's family was everything to her, what a blessing for them to have her in their lives. What a blessing for all of us to have known Shirley. Wishing peace and comfort to her family.

It was only a year ago that we celebrated Shirley's retirement.   May her sweet, kind soul be at peace after her long battle with the horrible disease. 
She will be sorely missed by all of us who were blessed with her friendship.
May the Good Lord hold your family close during this painful time of loss and know that there are many of us who are praying for you.

I've known Shirley my entire life! I always called her Aunt Shirley even though we weren't related. I remember my mom and I drove to Casper Wyoming to see Shirley  and her two girls Rhonda and Marie, when we were really little, we had a great time. 
     I love you Aunt Shirley, I'll miss you!!

Shirley and I first met in 1999 while I was still in the Air Force, we quickly became friends, laughing and sharing stories.  Many years later, we became even closer working together every day.  As an early bird, Shirley was often the first person in the office and I made a point to greet her with a "Good Morning, Sunshine..." each day.  Those first few hours of the day were always the quietest around Lockheed Martin, so it gave us an opportunity to talk about whatever was going on in our lives.  This is where I learned of Shirley's love for her family, great pride she had when she told stories or antics of her grandchildren and how she beamed when she talked about her kids.  Know that she loved you with all her heart!  During this most difficult time, remember the smiles, laughter and love you shared with her - and with that, she will always be with you.
