Martha Alma Mahoney

Martha Alma Mahoney of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Westminster, Colorado. She will be remembered as a loving mother, aunt and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was born on April 27, 1929, to Wager and Martha Lewis in upstate New York.

Martha grew up in Windsor, Connecticut, where she met and married Stanley Mahoney. Together they raised three children and traveled every corner of the United States and several countries. She graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and taught elementary school at Shaw Heights Primary School, Gregory Hills Elementary and Vista Elementary, all in Westminster. She was a fine seamstress and crafter, but quilting was her passion.

Martha was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Bertram and husband, Stanley Mahoney. She is survived by daughter, Linda Kennedy (Dennis) of Broomfield, son David Mahoney of Redondo Beach, California, granddaughter Jennifer Yruegas (Ray) of Thornton, Amanda Becker (Gary Jesuale) of Broomfield, step-granddaughter Erin Bateman (Dave) of Thornton, step-grandson David Kennedy (Kate) of Westminster and six great-grandchildren, Elle, David, Violet, Eli, Caleb and Nolan.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, March 28th, 2022, at Olinger Highland Mortuary Heritage Hall. Interment will follow in Olinger Highland Cemetery with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FISH of Broomfield where she volunteered.
