She was the youngest of four children. Anna completed the first through eighth grades in a one room school house. She attended high school in Howells, catching a ride with a neighborhood boy who could drive. After high school, she attended college in Omaha at the Nebraska Methodist hospital of Nursing where she earned her RN degree.
She met Frank Beran as a freshman in high school. She went to nursing school and Frank joined the Army. Seven years later they reunited and were married in December of 1953 in the Lutheran church in Howells.
Moving to Denver, Colorado they began a life together and started raising a family. Frank (Marty) was first, born in February of 1956, daughter Eileen came along in February of 1958, and David arrived in July of 1959.
After moving to a small farm in the Ft Lupton area for several years, they later moved to the Wiggins area where all the kids graduated from Wiggins High school. In 1981 they up-rooted and moved to the west coast landing in Carpinteria, California. They loved the ocean and the mild weather. Frank went on to be with the Lord in 1985 and Anna continued working and managing a clinic in Carpinteria until she retired. After retirement she volunteered in home nursing visits and working in the church, singing in the choir and enjoying friends and the walks along the beach several times a week, developing great friendships.
In 2012 she moved back to Wiggins, Colorado, reuniting with some old friends and making some very dear new friends in the Wiggins community. She loved the women’s Bible study classes at the Community church and the women’s Bible study groups at the Baptist church.
As Father Time caught up with her, she moved to Garden Square at West Lake in Greeley, Colorado where once again she made new friends and joined in Bible devotions, bingo, and various activities. Her faith meant so much to her over the span of her 95 years. Her sense of humor, kindness, compassion, and a bit of orneriness made it easy to love her.
Anna was preceded in death by her brothers, Dorn and Harold, her sister, Florence, and her husband, Frank. She is survived by her children, Frank (Rosanne) Beran, Eileen (Tim) Peggram, and David (Julie) Beran, her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
There will be a family graveside service Tuesday, June 11, at 11:00am at Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 N Grant St, Thornton, CO.
A memorial service will be held June 22nd at 11:00am at Wiggins Community Church, 423 Dickson St, Wiggins, CO 80654.
