Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 22, 1926. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice (née Gagné), parents Mark and Antoinette, and by his siblings Evelyn, Flora, Mark, Frances, Tom, and Sheila. Cherished father of Cara (Reid), Kate (Victor), Jim (Jan), Diane (Sandra), Louise, Rebecca (Bart), and David (Olena). Loving grandfather of Hilary (Chase), Nellwyn (Nathan), Ryan, Sasha and Sebastian.
Bob was an intelligent and curious person who put family first, and was engaged in current events, history, and science through to his last day, with a particular interest in polar exploration. An alumnus of Engineering at University of Toronto (P.Eng. 1952), Bob worked at Imperial Oil after graduating from high school through to his retirement. His love of nature led to annual family camping adventures, and after retirement, world travel with Alice by his side.
Visitation to be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON L4J 1W3. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 75 Churchill Avenue, North York, ON M2N 1Y8.
