Elizabeth Emma Ruth Fraser

Ruth Fraser passed away peacefully on July 18th 2023 at 88 years of age. Born Elizabeth Emma Ruth Jefferson on January 23, 1935 in Toronto, ON to the late Daisy and George, she graduated Teacher’s College in 1956 and enjoyed a 40-year career as a primary school teacher in Regal Road, Paige Avenue, O’Connor Drive, and Armour Heights public schools, where she maintained close ties with her students long after graduation. An active and dedicated member of the Davenport, Willowdale, and Armour Heights Presbyterian Church communities, she was endlessly generous with her time and energy in creating warm and welcoming environments for loved ones and new acquaintances alike.

She is predeceased by her cherished husband of 60 years, Harry, and her beloved brother, Daniel. She will be missed and remembered by son Colin, grandchildren Molly and Greg, sister in law Judy Jefferson, and nephews Robert (Aline) and James Jefferson. The family wishes to thank her devoted friends and relatives who enriched her life and blessed her with their love.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, August 24th at 1 p.m at Armour Heights Presbyterian Church, 105 Wilson Ave., Toronto. In memory of Ruth, donations may be made to Armour Heights Presbyterian Church.
