Passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 21, 2014 at the age of 81, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Hoda of 36 years. Loving father of Carey (Rosalind Lobo), Jim and Cathy (Alan Hogan). Proud grandfather of Justin, Cameron and Brooke. Will also be missed by Margaret Burnett. Deepest gratitude for the many years of compassionate care of Dr. Kenneth Jaskolka and for the recent palliative care of Dr. Chin K. Chung. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 10:30 - 11:00 at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or Lung Cancer Canada.
