Mabel Nelson Slate 81, of High Point, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday May 12, 2011 at her residence. Mabel was born June 5, 1929 in Stokes County to the late Herman and Minnie Ellis Nelson. She attended Cloverdale Baptist Church. Mabel was a loving woman who now is at peace.
Mrs. Slate was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Edward Friddle , son Raymond Edward Friddle, Jr. and two brothers.
Mabel is survived by daughters Donna Gail Poplin, Laurie Kay Hopper and husband Junior and Lois Annette Friddle of the home also 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday May 16, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomasville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 17, 2011 at Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David J. Edwards to officiate the service. Burial at Floral Gardens Memorial Park will follow.
In lieu of flowers donations to Thomasville Funeral Home in Mrs. Mabel N. Slate’ s memory are requested by the family to help with expenses.
