James "Jimmy" Leon Rhodes

James "Jimmy" Leon Rhodes, age 65, of Thomasville, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. He was born in Aliceville, AL on June 6, 1958 to Vernest Melvin Rhodes, Sr. and Elvie Marie Hamlin Rhodes.

Jimmy grew up in Trinity and attended Trinity High School. He was an experienced welder, vending machine technician and Co-Owner of Rhodes Accounting and Tax Service in Archdale.

He was a firm believer in God and was of the Baptist faith. Jimmy enjoyed boating, fishing, playing games and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father Vernest and mother Elvie, daughter-in-law Casey Baldwin Rhodes, sister-in-law Grace Rhodes and brother-in-law Ralph Gallimore.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Theresa Rhodes (of 42 years). He was blessed with five children, Kevin (Linda) Rhodes, Christopher Rhodes, Tristia (James) Hendren, Amanda Rhodes, and Nathaniel (Chloe) Rhodes. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Peyton Rhodes, Landon Rhodes, Andrew Rhodes, Valerie Forehand, Kallie Hendren, Brandon Rhodes, Levi Rhodes, Ryleigh Hendren and Maya Rhodes. Brothers Vernest Rhodes Jr., Aubrey (Patricia) Rhodes, sisters Judy (Tony) Peacock, Barbara Gallimore, Virginia (Larry) Crouse and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, North Carolina 27360.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.

In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
