Mr. William James Knotts Jr.

Services for Mr. William James Knotts, Jr. will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77381. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the funeral home. Then, at 2:00 p.m., services will move to the Whispering Pines Mausoleum at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with a cryptside service. Rev. Bill Cole will officiate.

Billy, as he was affectionately known by loved ones, passed away suddenly around midnight Monday night/Tuesday morning in The Woodlands, Texas. He was pronounced on October 11, 2022. He was born September 28, 1944 in Laurel, Mississippi as the only child of William “Bill” Knotts, Sr. and Dorothy (Johnson) Knotts. He was 78 years of age.

Billy attended high school in Patterson, Louisiana and college at Northwestern in Natchitoches. He was married to Laura “Lynn” Ward-Knotts for over 22 years.

Billy was enjoying his retirement watching the Houston Astros, LSU, and the New Orleans Saints. His work was done after many years in the Oil & Gas Industry where he worked in equipment sales, but he never forgot all the true friends that he met along the way.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jason Knotts. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lynn Ward-Knotts of The Woodlands, Texas; one devoted son, Terry Knotts and wife Jennifer of Boston, Massachusetts; a beautiful daughter, Ashley Rasmussen and husband Paul of Dallas, Texas; two bonus daughters, Sandra Harper and husband Jay of The Woodlands, Texas and Lorrie Wagner and husband Jeff of Bellaire, Texas; 11 grandchildren that he dearly loved and who will miss Papa Billy; and many extended family and dear friends.
