The daughter of Italian immigrants who passed through the doors of Ellis Island, she was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on November 6, 1927 and graduated from Atlantic City High School.
She was married to Elmer Ross Short in Atlantic City on April 13, 1947.
Terry worked as a preschool teacher for The Shlenker School in southwest Houston for over 40 years. She had a passion for teaching young children as well as shopping and fashion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Short; and sons, Dale Short and Randy Short.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Short and wife, Anne, and Jeffrey Short; grandchildren, Jason Short, Clark Short, Charles Short, Gary Short, Melissa Short, Jeremy Short, and Justin Short. In addition, Terry was known as “GG” to her ten great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Shlenker School.
