Susana María Belden Fernández, a loving, generous, quirky, witty woman, graced this world with her presence from April 18, 1965 to October 5, 2023. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, she embarked on a remarkable journey that touched the lives of many.
The daughter of Francisco Gerardo Belden Albo and Paz Fernandez Aja, Susana's roots were deeply ingrained in her heritage. Susana attended American School Foundation of Monterrey, and later Technológico de Monterrey. Afterwards, Susana enjoyed over a 30 year career at Continental Airlines and United Airlines as a bilingual flight attendant, where her warmth and charisma made her much loved by passengers and colleagues alike.
Upon retiring from the airline industry, Susana continued to channel her linguistic talents as a certified translator and interpreter, providing her services to the U.S. government and the Harris County District Attorney’s office. Her dedication to facilitating communication across languages left a lasting impact.
Yet, her greatest joy in life was her son, Adam. Her son was the center of her universe, and their unbreakable bond was a testament to the depth of her love and unwavering devotion as a mother, a connection that will forever remain a cherished part of her legacy. Her affection extended beyond her family, as Susana was a dedicated animal lover, embracing the joy of furry companions and cherishing their company.
An adventurous spirit, Susana found delight in exploring new horizons, from traveling to spending cherished moments at the beach. Her zest for life allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life, eagerly listening to their stories and enriching her own in the process.
One of Susana's remarkable qualities was her ability to find happiness and silliness in everyday activities. Her infectious laughter and vivacity uplifted those around her, making her a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Susana is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Gerardo and Paz.
She is survived by her beloved son and his wife, Adam and Kelly; sister, María de la Paz; sister and her husband, Gloria Cecilia and Gerardo; brother and his wife, Francisco Javier and Bertha; brother and his wife, Daniel Gerardo and Maria Guadalupe; 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 6 great nieces, and 5 great nephews.
