Sarah was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on February 24, 1955, and was a life-long member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City in Knoxville until her retirement and move to Texas in 2019. She was a graduate of Central High School and spent her working life in Knoxville performing Data Entry at various local businesses.
Known for her generous nature and quick humor, Sarah was a loyal friend to all who knew her and a beloved family member. She was a devoted parent, daughter, sister, and aunt, a kind advocate and caregiver, and she had a reputation for fearlessly standing up and showing up for others. Sarah was a talented artist; she loved music, traveling, sporty cars, and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee H. (Bud) Spickard and Elese Higdon Spickard.
She is survived by her daughter, Casey Elese Bays of Gulf Breeze, Florida; her sister and brother-in-law Susan and Larry Allen of Spring, Texas; niece Lindsay Allen of Spring, Texas; nephew Matt Allen and wife Ashleigh of Katy, Texas, grandnephews Jackson Allen Neal and Logan Allen; grandniece Luci Allen; and several cousins.
There will be a brief gathering at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service for Sarah on Wednesday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, Woodlands, Texas. In lieu of flowers please donate to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in Sarah’s name.
