Roger was born on the 10th of July, 1952, to Richard and Winifred Waltmire Short (deceased) in Chicago, Illinois. Roger graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy in 1980. He continued his education by earning a CPA license in 1993.
Roger’s leadership and teaching ability came through in every aspect of life, he continually tried to show others the correct way of accomplishing the task at hand. He loved to see a smile on a child’s face and enjoyed hearing children laugh. He spent the majority of his time working, tinkering in the garage, and exercising. He lived very simply, knew what he wanted in life, and mostly kept to himself but also enjoyed the company of friends or family during a BBQ.
He is survived by his son, Mason and wife Tiffany Nutt, their children Kailey, Abigail, and Julie; son Mark Nutt Jr., his son Chase Nutt; son Michael Nutt, his daughter Taylor Nutt; sister, Carol Short Peabody; brothers, Ralph Short and Randy Short and their families.
