Lester Allan “Trey” Baker III, age 52, passed away on January 12, 2014 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on December 5, 1961 to Lester Allan Baker Jr. and Evelyn Elethia Ketchings Baker.
Trey attended Sam Houston State University and the prestigious Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. He became interested and involved in the restaurant business as early as his high school years and worked in, and owned, restaurants his entire life. He loved his partnership in Sonic Drive Inns and was dedicated to the people he worked with.
He was a Master Mason in the West University and Bay City Lodges. He was a member of the Texas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, sons of Confederate Veterans, the Tomball Archeological Recovery Club, and owner and founder of Aardvark Enterprises, a distributor of metal detectors.
Trey is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Ketchings Grau. He is survived by his father, Lester Allan Baker Jr., and stepmother Susan Webb Baker. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Kimberly Diane Baker and Amanda Leanne Baker. Also surviving him are his brothers, Ward Baker and wife June Baker, their daughters Ashley Baker and Kristina Baker and other brother Stephen Baker, his wife Maria, and son, Kelly Baker.

Memorial services will be held in Houston on January 31 at 10 AM at the “Chapel in the Woods” on the Woodlands Church Campus at One Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands, Tx. 77384. A eulogy will be presented by Hannah Wilder, Trey’s aunt, but we welcome and encourage all friends to share your memories and thoughts of Trey. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow the service and will be held at Belle Rose Maison located at 15833 Old Conroe Road, Conroe, Tx. 77384.
Graveside services will be held on February 8th at 11 AM at the Natchez, Mississippi City Cemetery under the direction of Lairds Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the graveside service and will be held in the Promenade Room at the Eola Hotel.
Please note that all services are “come as you are” per Trey’s request and no need to dress in traditional funeral attire
