Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and father Lillian Opal Sharp Holden and Earnest E. Holden, husband Jack Carl Day, brother Huey Holden, sister Jean Urie and brother-in-law Jimmy Urie, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Herbert and Letha Day.
Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She is survived by her loving husband Dick B. Smith, daughter Dianna Day, son Foy Day, son Scott Day and daughter-in-law Rhonda Day, son Todd Day and son-in-law Joel Ward, and sister-in-law Linda Holden. Joyce is also survived by her many grandchildren: Andrew Lartigue and wife Alexandria, Michael Lartigue, Samuel Lartigue and wife Lacie, Matthew Day and wife Mercedes, Benjamin Day, Kerry Lieder and husband Alex, Christopher Day and wife Katlin, Abby Phariss and husband Samuel, and Emma Day. Joyce was the great-grandmother of seven and is survived by: Arthur Lartigue, Avlynn Lartigue, Dixie Lartigue, Scoutlynn Day, Kasseus Day, Atticus Day, and Jay Lieder. Also surviving Joyce are niece Karen Urie, and nephews: Darren Urie, Gary Urie, and Randy Holden.
Joyce's presence brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be forever loved and forever remembered by her large and adoring family.
A graveside service for Joyce will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
