Jerry E. Hendon

Born in 1943, In Murray Kentucky. He went to high school at Murray College High on the campus of Murray State University where he made lifelong friends and wonderful memories. Jerry went on to take a BS and MS from Murray State University and married Ann Gray Hendon. While serving in the U.S. Army Jerry and Ann celebrated the birth of a beloved son, Kevin Taylor Hendon.

In 1970, he began his career at Humble Oil and Refining in Baytown, Texas and retired from ExxonMobil in 2000. By 1995, he had relocated to The Woodlands where he met and married Jaye, his wife of 26 years. Jerry proudly failed this first "retirement" and began a new career as a consultant in the petrochemical industry and traveled the globe. He closed his firm in 2015, and began to pursue a retirement again fishin the lakes, rivers, and seas of the world. He visited the Orvis stores so often he was encouraged to join their staff. Once again, he had failed retirement... but what fun he had telling fish stories, meeting new anglers and introducing young and old to the joys of flyfishing.

The diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease gradually diminished the light and laughter that made his smile special. We will miss him but are comforted in the hope he is "retired" at last and resting peacefully with our Lord.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette "Jaye" Hendon, brother-in-law, Steve Tricarico (Jonesboro,Ark); sister-in-law, Patricia Gray; and three nephews. A stepdaughter, Stephenie Eldridge (David); and granddaughters, Christina Eldridge, Taylor Woolley Bille and Jordan Woolley grieve the loss of "Papa". He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Audrey Hendon; his first wife, Ann Gray Hendon; and their son, Kevin Taylor Hendon.

Expressions of sympathy in remembrance of Jerry may take the form of a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Reel Recovery or a charity of your choice.

Final arrangements for a Celebration of Remembrance are pending with Forest Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, The Woodlands Texas.
