Hannah Faith Harrison

Hannah was born in Tomball, Texas, on March 12, 1996, raised in The Woodlands, and spent many years in the San Marcos/Austin area. She thrived in reading, learning, and competition sports. She loved animals and loved her family dearly. She was a happy and exuberant child.

Growing up, Hannah was a star athlete. She began sports very young. She played basketball at age 4 where she earned the nickname “Boomer”, as she became known for making swish long shots, and, at age 7, was voted most valuable player while being the only girl on the baseball team. She was also a star player for 3 years of lacrosse.

Hannah was an honors student, becoming a Duke’s Scholar at age of 12, receiving the Presidential Award of Excellence, signed by then president, George W. Bush, and was accepted into every university she applied for.

Hannah’s heart was full of love for animals. She had a menagerie of pets she found, rescued, or cajoled us into purchasing. Dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, hamsters, gerbils, and hermit crabs. As a young girl she once asked for pet food and supplies for the humane society instead of presents at her birthday party.

Hannah had a soft heart for people in need, often putting herself in harms way to help another. Once, she witnessed a fatal accident where she bolted from the car to offer help to the critically injured man - without hesitation. She was known for other acts of bravery where she defied common sense and rules to do what she felt was right to save another. She was heroic in her wilderness program where she carried a teen who had injured her ankle, on her back, for 5 miles back to camp. Hannah excelled at anything she put her mind to. She loved music, especially rap, funny television shows and movies. Her sense of humor was sharp and witty.

Hannah was a loving soul. Her beauty, resounding laughter and playful spirit will be remembered forever in our hearts and souls.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, John Kennedy Harrison, Lucille Guess Harrison, and her beloved uncle, Stewart Guess Harrison.

Survived by mother, Faith Harrison, father Reace Harrison, brother Jonray Higginbotham (Barbara), nephew, Rogelio Ray, niece, Barbara Marie, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, a grandmother and extended family, dear friends and her beloved pets, Chesney, Remington, Bootzi, Mimzy, Tiki and extended pet family.

Hannah was an organ donor. She passed the gift of life onto 3 others.

A celebration of life gathering for Hannah will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A burial will occur Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. A reception will occur Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
