The Woodlands, TX – On Sunday, January 21st, 2018, Gae Lynne Lisenby, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Guided by her faith in the Lord, she courageously fought and finished her race with love, perseverance, and grace.
Gae was born on July 11, 1946 in Oklahoma City to GW and Edith Riley and spent her early childhood in Norman, Oklahoma, and later graduated high school in Sulphur, Oklahoma. After attending Oklahoma University and East Central University, she graduated from St. Anthony’s School of Radiology in Oklahoma City. She knew from the first day this was the work she was meant to be doing.
In 1973, Gae completed specialized training for the EMI Brain Scanner in Montreal, Canada and supervised for many years the CT department at a large hospital in Oklahoma City. She retired in 1985 when her husband was transferred to Houston and moved the family to The Woodlands, Texas.
After her daughter began dance classes at Boni’s Dance Studio, Gae volunteered at the studio which led to a job managing the office. She worked for Boni’s for fourteen years and cherished the wonderful memories and friends she made there.
In 2004, Gae retired to help care for her first grandchild Avery, and later her grandson Blake. Known as GG, she treasured her time with her grandkids and formed a special bond, often saying it was the most precious time in her life taking care of them.
Gae touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile, kind heart and loving spirit. She gave the best hugs, cared and listened, and made all occasions important and special. She will be loved and remembered forever in our hearts.
Gae is survived by her husband and best friend; Richard Lisenby, daughter; Monica Cormier, son; Jason Lisenby; son-in-law Brian Cormier and grandchildren; Avery and Blake Cormier, and her brother Ken Riley and his wife Becky. Gae is preceded in death by her parents; GW and Edith (Nana) Riley.
