Surrounded by his family, Daniel Eugene Blevins, 70 of The Woodlands, Texas, passed peacefully and went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 18, 2018. Dan was born on October 19, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Eugene and Betty Blevins.
Dan grew up on the sunny beaches of Pompano Beach, Florida, where he met Judi and later married in 1976. After moving to Houston, Dan and Judi settled in to The Woodlands, Texas, community in 1979 and raised their two children, Jason and Leah.
After retiring from a career of over 40 years in the air conditioning business in 2013, he was able to focus on his greatest joys: family, friends, his beloved pets, and his backyard garden oasis.
Dan was a role model for many young people through the 12 years he spent as a leader and Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a loving husband, a devoted father to his children, a lifelong protector of his younger sisters, and a loyal friend. We were blessed to have Dan in our lives and will treasure all of the beautiful memories we have with him.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judith Blevins; son, Jason Blevins of Spring, Texas; daughter, Leah Blevins of Spring, Texas; sister, Terri Diamond, and husband, Rod, of Epping, New Hampshire; sister, Kay Thomas, and husband, Greg, of Boynton Beach, Florida; brother-in-law, James Cavalier, and wife, Cathy, of Shoreview, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Nancy Cavalier and Mary Cavalier of Texas; sister-in-law, Jennette Cavalier, of Shoreline, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, located on 26777 Glen Loch Drive, in The Woodlands. Following the service, friends are invited to greet the family during a reception in Domec Hall.
