Carolyn Ruby Brown

Carolyn Ruby Brown (Cox), of The Woodlands, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Carolyn was born on September 22, 1935 in Biloxi, Mississippi, graduating from Biloxi High School. She married Airman Jerry Brown, Sr in May of 1953, and the two of them traveled the world during Jerry’s Air Force career. She and Jerry prioritized Jesus and were very active in ministry throughout their life together – from leading Sunday School and worship, to housing missionary families, to the Gideon ministry. Biloxi was always Carolyn’s home, and she retired at Keesler AFB in Biloxi after serving in the Civil Service 32 years.

Carolyn is preceded in her death by her parents, Joseph and Ollie Cox, her husband Jerry P. Brown Sr, and her son Jerry P. Brown Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Ginger Chappelle (Hal), daughter-in-law Barbara Brown, her brother Arnie Cox (Carol), her grandchildren Bryan Chappelle (Amy), Sherry McClure (David), Carolyn Anthony (Steve) and Jerry Brown III (Carrie), as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Services for Carolyn will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home located at 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. A visitation will occur from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Immediately following the service, the family would like family and friends to join them for a reception in the R.L. Wood Reception Hall from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Interment will be at Biloxi Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, Mississippi on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
