Ruth “Elaine” Robinson Hamilton, age 89, was born on February 2nd, 1936 outside of Waynoka, OK, and joined the heavenly choir Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 when she passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven.
She sang her whole life, early on in a girl’s quartette in high school, church choirs, and cantatas at Christmas and Easter. Her favorite moments were family reunions, watching her grandkids’ events, daily phone calls to Oklahoma keeping up with family and friends, and serving with her church through funeral dinners and feeding the homeless, especially the annual Christmas meal. She and her husband loved their church family and pastors at Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo and Central Christian Church in Texarkana.
Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorthea Quinn Robinson, and brother-in-law Jim Case. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Herbert H. Hamilton, of Ashdown, AR, her son, Mark Bixler (Cindy) of Texarkana, TX, her sister Ruby “Lorraine” Case, of Alva, OK, her grandsons Bryan Bixler (Kelly) of Texarkana, TX, Brent Bixler (Mindy), of Little Rock, AR, her great granddaughters Madelyn Bixler, of Waco, TX, Kathryn and Rylie Bixler, of Texarkana, TX, and Lily and Chloe Bixler, of Little Rock, AR, and her beloved nieces Angelia and Valarie Case, both of Alva, OK.
Her life will be celebrated in the chapel of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane on Tuesday, April 1st, at 11 a.m., visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Waynoka Municipal Cemetery on Thursday, April 3rd, at 10 a.m.
The family is grateful for excellent care Elaine received from Hospice of Texarkana, The Oaks, and Little River Nursing and Rehab and countless caregivers who greatly improved her quality of life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Texarkana.
