Ruth Mocklin-Green, age 96, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, December 7, 2018 in Hospice of Texarkana's Hospice Of Hope Center.
Mrs. Green was born January 22, 1922, in Riegelsberg, West Germany. She attended Augusta-Victoria Higher School in Saarbrucken, Germany where she graduated in 1940 at the age of 18. She then received her degree in Education and Physical Education from a teachers training college in Trier, Germany, then Koblenz, Germany. In America, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Southern Arkansas University and her Master's degree from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. She was a retired school teacher for Texarkana Independent School District, after teaching for thirty years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Charles W. Green.
Survivors include three sons, one daughter and two daughters-in-law, George and Kathy Green of Johnson City, Tennessee, Michael and JoAnn Green of Naperville, Illinois, Rex Green, of Asheville, North Carolina, Heidi Green-Adams of Texarkana, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, Scott, Brandon, Whitney, Kyle, Amanda, Harrison, Jeffrey and Nicole Green, Alexandra and Morgan Adams, Katherine Anne Miller and two great-grandchildren, Zaya Katherine and Everett Cole Miller.
Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas, Chapter CX-PEO, Philanthropic Education Organization, Texas Retired Teachers Association and chapter Alpha Pi of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a charter member of Wadley Hospital Women's Auxiliary for thirty years, Charter Member of North Ridge Country Club and Women's Golf Association and a swimming therapy volunteer for handicapped children at Temple Memorial Treatment Center, in her early thirties.
There will be a private family memorial service on Monday, December 10th at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, and private burial service at East Memorial Gardens after.
