JIMMY DWAIN JONES went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 29th. He was born on February 18, 1960 in Houston, Texas and lived most of his life in the Texarkana, Arkansas area. He was a proud father of five children and grandfather to five grandchildren, all of whom were precious to him and gave him great joy. Those who called him a friend will remember his gentle smile and knew him to be a selfless, kind, loyal and giving man who would do anything for anyone who asked.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping with his family, being out in the deer woods, in a bass boat on a lake or on a river fly fishing for rainbow trout. As an expert deer hunter, Jimmy obtained the coveted Triple Trophy awarded by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission for harvesting a deer by modern gun, muzzle load and bow in the same hunting season. He also had a passion for bull riding and enjoyed rodeos as a spectator sport.
He was a hardworking, dependable employee of United Parcel Service for 25 years as a parcel delivery driver, then later as an over-the-road truck driver and maintained an exemplary driver safety and performance record during his years of service.
He is preceded in death by his father Dewey Edward Jones and is survived by his grandmother Josephine Carpenter of Tomball, Texas, his mother Beverly Jones of Texarkana, Arkansas, his brothers Troy Jones and Gary Jones, both of Little Rock, Arkansas, his sister Debbie McKeever of Texarkana, Arkansas, his children Cortney Boyd of Red Lick, Texas, Joshua Jones of Texarkana, Arkansas, Marla Evans of Beebe, Arkansas, Marissa Jones and Makayla Jones, both of Texarkana, Texas, and his five grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the excellent medical care and attention he received from the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Christus Saint Michaels Hospital and Dierksen Memorial Hospice.
