Claire Marie "Dollie" Sorsby Williams

Dollie was born on April 27, 1934 to William and Clara Sorsby in Texarkana, AR.

She died peacefully on July 8, 2021 at the age of 87.

Dollie attended Liberty-Eylau Schools, graduated high school at Texas High

School and completed college at Southern State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in

Education. She loved teaching and retired after 40 years of service. Dollie was a

member of Delta Kappa Gamma for many years and enjoyed being a member of the

Eylau Extension Club.

Dollie will be remembered by family and friends for her love of singing and

playing the piano. She cherished her children and all the wonderful times she had with

them. Her last words were expressing how much she loved her children and her love for

life. Dollie loved God and walked next to him her entire life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Williams, parents William and Clara

Sorsby, sister Norma Jean Belonie and brothers Billy and Dale Sorsby.

Dollie is survived by her sons William Troxler, wife Mary of Double Oak, TX, Steven

Troxler and wife Tina, of El Paso, TX., daughters Lisa Sloan and spouse Doug of Texarkana, TX, Cindy

Wood and spouse Michael of Chickasha, OK and Jan Reed spouse John of Keller,TX.

Dollie was blessed with 16 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces,

nephews, cousins, and a very special friend Laverne Ogden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic

Church with Rev. Justin Braun officiating. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at East Funeral Home- Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor to Eylau Methodist Church

Building Fund or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.

Family will be at the home of Lisa and Doug Sloan. Address is 5804 Forrest Grove Rd.
