Bonnie Lockwood Tidwell Pierce passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2016. Bonnie was born February 7, 1935, in Glenwood, Arkansas. She worked as a Professional Caterer. Bonnie enjoyed cooking and sharing her passion of cooking with family and friends. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family. Bonnie was known for her kindness and never met a stranger. She had a huge heart, was gentle, a leader, and her children always came first. Bonnie was a long-time member of the Texarkana Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her favorite Bible verse was Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Joel C. and Oma E. Lockwood; brother Ricky Alan Lockwood; and sister Jo Harvey Sands.
Bonnie is survived by daughter Susan Cook, husband Windell; son Steve Tidwell; son Joe Bob Pierce, Jr., wife Annie; sister Nancy Oliver; grandchildren: Morgan Renfrow, wife Mary; Ryan Renfrow; Jake Tidwell, wife Ashley; Russell Cook, wife Cyndi; Teresa Perot; Brittany Perot; eight great-grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews, best friend Ruby Vitro Tyndall, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Christus St. Michael for providing wonderful and compassionate, loving care to Bonnie. A special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Texarkana, Encompass Home Health, and Health South Rehab.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00pm at East Funeral Home on Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX with Elder Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at East Funeral Home
