Mr. Ray "Antique" Crow

Ray Crow, 87, of Kaufman, passed away Oct. 17, 2014. He was born Sept. 8, 1927 in Frankfurt, Ky to Albert and Nannie (Brown) Crow, both of whom preceded him in death along with his siblings: Kellis, Doyle, Ransom, Mary Lois, and Helen Louise Crow and Barbara McCoy.

Ray was a man who was loyal to his family and his friends and he was also a veteran having served in the US Army in Europe during the post WWII era. His generosity was the hallmark of his personality and there wasn’t anyone that he wouldn’t go out of his way to help. A social man who loved people and the stories they had to tell, Ray could’ve been a politician with his grace, good manners and his talent for diplomacy. One of the defining characteristics of Ray was that he thought the best of every person he met would often say “a person is always beautiful, except the ones that are barely pretty”. He had a good work ethic and owned and operated his own gas station, transport company and a restaurant, Fisherman’s Delight. His work never took him away from his family and he was a devoted husband and doting father and grandfather. His sweet spirit and jolly sense of humor will leave a legacy that each of his family and friends will cherish.

Ray is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Aline Crow of Kaufman; daughters: Vicki Vent of Garland, Karen Crow and Sharon Crow, both of Kaufman; grandchildren: Kara Land and Justin Sarlow; great grandchildren: Kala, Josiah, Ethan, Kaelynn Sarlow, Don, III and D’arin Nickson; great-great grandchild, Daijon Davis; siblings: Bobby and Charlsie Crow, Kenneth and Wynona Crow, Dorinda and Rowe Cox, Darlene and Ted Lusk, Richard and Judy Crow, Hollis and Janice Crow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law of Aline, extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be at 2:00pm, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with Hollis Crow officiating and interment will follow at Rader Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00pm to service time.
