Max Allen Pastorius

Max Allen Pastorius, born March 3, 1930, died August 25, 2013, at Signature Healthcare of Terre Haute surrounded by his loved ones and family. He was born in Fontanet to Peter Pistorius and Etta Biggs Pastorius.

Max is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Catherine Baker Pastorius. Sons, David Allen Pastorius of Terre Haute, Danny Neil Pastorius of Terre Haute and daughter Marsha Kay and her husband Robert Drake of Terre Haute. Ten grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Etta, brothers, Elmo, William, and Lester Pastorius and one infant son Gary Max Pastorius.

Max retired from Wabash Fibre Box in Terre Haute after 43 years service. He was a member of Burnett Bible Church and the Legion Post 346. He was also in the United States Army from February 14, 1951 to February 14 1953, he served in the 315 Infantry and 18th Airborne Special Services.

Visitation will be held from 11 until 1 on Wednesday, August 28 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 1 on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Herb officiating. Burial with military rites performed by American Legion Post 346 will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the National Kidney Foundation or to the family.
