Marilyn Rose Mier, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, June 06, 2018, at Union Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1935, in Terre Haute to Byron and Goldie (Byrley) Lillie.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don Mier of Terre Haute; daughter, Monica Zimmerman and husband Chuck; son, Brent Mier; sisters, Sylvia Nevins, Nancy Bantz, and Viola Congleton; five grandchildren, Danielle Duregger (Michael), Abby Zimmerman (Jordan), Emily Zimmerman, Victoria Mier, and Brayton Mier; two great-grandchildren, Harper Grace King and George Charles Duregger; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Lou Cunningham.
Marilyn was a 1953 graduate of Otter Creek High School. She cherished her relationships with her classmates and always looked forward to catching up at the 1953 Graduates lunches. Marilyn worked at Quaker Maid and later worked as a dental assistant at Anshutz Dental Office. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, Marilyn loved sewing, cross-stitching, and ceramics.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Grayless officiating. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
