Lisa G. Carpenter, 61, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully after a short battle with stage 4 lung cancer on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at The Gibson Center for Hospice. She was born on August 9, 1961, in Terre Haute to Clifton C. and Uldine (Collins) Harmon.
Lisa is survived by her children, Jeremy Carpenter and wife Cynthia of Terre Haute and Sherrie Hall and husband Joey of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Noah Brannon, Elijah Carpenter, Evangelina Carpenter, Hagen Hall, and Tarlo Hall; the love of her life, Clyde Crandell; and sisters, Marlene Harrington and Cyndi Soules.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pam Harmon.
Lisa had a green thumb and a huge love for her flowers and gardens. She loved to be outdoors any chance she could get. She cherished her life in the country with her Clyde. There is hardly a person in the Wabash Valley that didn’t meet Lisa at least once. She was the friendly, smiling face and listening ear behind the bar at several veteran’s clubs. She previously worked at VFW Post 972 for many years. Lisa was most recently cracking jokes and serving up drinks at American Legion Post 104 on Ft. Harrison Road and American Legion Post 328 in Riley. It takes a hell of a woman to deal with a bunch of old men who like to drink, and Lisa was a hell of a woman. She would treat you like family the moment you met her and she lived her life to the fullest. If you knew Lisa, you know how proud she was of her family and how much she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a time soon to be announced. Please check back often for further details.
