Judy Ann Smith, 73, of Rosedale, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Kindred Southwood, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7, 1942, in Terre Haute, to Alcie and Velma (Norris) Wilson. She married Raymond Smith on September 3, 1999.
Judy is survived by her husband of 16 years, Raymond Smith of Rosedale; children, Debbie Ritchey and husband Mark of Rockville; Judy V. Lowe, Brenda Johnson, Raymond Johnson Jr. all of Rosedale; Johnny Johnson and wife Stephanie of Seelyville; Cathy Garvey and husband James, Virginia Curtis and husband Don, Joe Smith and wife Sherri, and Greg Smith and wife Helen, all of Terre Haute; twenty-one grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, sisters Connie Berry and Shirley Archer; brothers, Allen Wilson and Harvey W. Wilson; many nieces and nephews; and father of her four children, Raymond Johnson of Rosedale; and her beloved Maltese Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Rose Stanley; and a brother Raymond Wilson.
Judy was a member of Moose Lodge 1009 American Legion Post 346 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Elvis fan. She loved to go to casinos, play slot machines, and play bingo. She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening (especially her roses), and watching the birds and her koi in her fish pond. She was a mother to everybody. She was generous, loving, and truly kind. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 24 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 25, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dragon officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
