He graduated from Garfield High School in 1964 and was a proud Purple Eagle! John was looking forward to his upcoming 60th class reunion.
John worked for Columbia Records and Pfizer before becoming the proprietor of Robinson Rental Properties/Walk to Campus Apartments. He married “the apple of his eye”, Jan Robinson, on July 15, 1989 and they spent 40 years together. John loved to travel, play golf, and drink Coors Light. He thoroughly enjoyed photography and sharing all of his adventures. He hosted the best parties by making his signature burritos. John was quick with a joke and had his own one liners his friends named “Johnisms”. He was a master scuba diver, taking many trips to dive. John was everyone’s maintenance man and could work on and fix anything. He served on several committees throughout his career, including the Lead-Based Paint committee with his Vigo County Board of Health girls. John was past president of the Apartment Owners and Managers Association of Terre Haute.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Pearl, stepfather, Rex Smith, and father and mother-in-law, Don and Ileen Quinn.
Surviving John are his wife Jan Robinson, daughters, (and in no favorite order) Stacy Anderson (Jimmy), Mandy Pruett (Jackie), Grandsons, Dominique Sanders (Ashlyn), Parker Anderson, and Great Grandchildren, Kalia Quinn Sanders and Krue Robinson Sanders. He also leaves behind numerous golf buddies in Indiana and Las Vegas, of which he especially liked sharing stories at the 19th Hole.
